PARACHUTE T-5
The Complete Type T-5 Parachute adopted in June 1941 is made up of 2 parachutes (one dorsal and one ventral) and a harness. It will be used up to Normandy then after this operation. It will be replaced by a modified T-5 (addition of a quick release system or Quick Release Box) which will give birth to the T-7 including this manufacturing modification. FABRIC CAP TYPE A-9 AIR FORCE USARMY (1942)

This hat is complete with its ear cushions, light white cotton cords and leather chin strap with its medium size sheep wool part.
In addition to this, you will need to know more about it.
The beanie shown here looks a lot like the Type A-8 beanie.
The A-8 caps had been distributed to the paratroopers who were training at the parachute school.
The differences concerned the tissue attachment system of the temporal hook attachments and ear cushions which did not exist on the A-8 model.
